In a perfect world, the Internet would only be utilized for productive purposes in the office. In reality, this is often not the case. The Internet is often use for personal reasons, to play games or even to search for a new job. Still, it is had a great impact on the way we work. Many offices attempt to dissuade their employees from utilizing the Internet for personal purposes by putting policies in place designed to terrorize employees into not using the Internet for inappropriate reasons. Other companies install software which monitors employee Internet usage, utilize software that bans certain websites and finds other unique ways of tracking employee Internet usage.
Every office that institutes one of these ‘don’t use the Internet’ policies, understands how important the Internet is to their everyday operations. The Internet has made communicating with fellow employees, customers and potential clients easier. It has streamlined the manufacturing process by making it easier to order supplies, track inventories and fulfill orders. No office can function properly without a reliable Internet connection.Today, it is difficult to imagine the workplace without the Internet.
We have become so accustomed to it and the impact it has had on our jobs that giving it up would be difficult. The Internet may very well be considered a necessary evil in many offices. While some believe that personal use of the Internet in an office setting can lead to poor production, the number of ways the Internet makes working easier means every office pass to have one.
